Bill Bailey's Jamming Session in a local pub on
the Isle of Mull.
Bill Bailey is an English stand-up comedian,
musician, actor and eccentric! As well as his extensive stand-up
work, Bailey is a best known for his appearances on Have I Got
News for You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI and Black Books.
Bill Bailey’s Birdwatching Bonanza is designed to
test and develop the observational and practical skills of two
competing teams of celebrities while they check out British
birds. Popular Comedian Bill is joined by Alex Zane and Jeff
Green who are fellow bird enthusiasts. The celebrities joining
the teams on the Isle of Mull are Donal MacIntyre and Jayne
Middlemiss.
Donal
is an Irish investigative journalist, specialising in hard
hitting investigations, undercover operations and television
exposes. More recently he has presented programmes on weather
phenomena and wildlife documentaries.
Jayne started her career as a Glamour Model before pursuing
media jobs. She has presented various television programmes
including hosting Top of the Pops and hosting live coverage of
the Glastonbury and Edinburgh Festivals. In 2009 she won
Celebrity Masterchef.
Bill Bailey oversees the two teams as they get
back to basics and commune with nature, setting up camp at each
location and settling down around the campfire in the evenings
to reminisce on their birding exploits.

Bill Bailey wrote on Twitter that he saw a
White-tailed Eagle whilst filming on Mull on 6th October. He
also "jammed with the band at the Craignure Inn". It
turns out that he made an impromptu appearance in the local pub,
playing guitar and singing folk songs. The Times reports that
"Most of the island, it seems, turned up to watch". Not sure the
Craignure Inn will hold 2700 people but watch this space!
Two of the tasks set to the teams were to photograph a
White-tailed Eagle and a Hooded Crow. To find out if they were
successful tune into Sky 1, 8pm on Thursday 28th January 2010.
